300,000 litre milestone for Recipro!

We are celebrating the huge milestone of remanufacturing 300,000 litres of leftover paint since launching our remanufacturing centre in 2017. Supported by the UK wide Community RePaint network and Dulux, who sponsor the network, Recipro is using pioneering technology to transform ‘waste’ paint into a brand new, quality paint, at a community friendly price, for low-income householders and groups. This process enables leftover and surplus paint to be collected, remanufactured, and put into a new container, branded as ‘ReColour’.

ReColour remanufactured paint is produced with the community in mind, to help those most in need to brighten their spaces and colour lives.

The paint has also brightened the spaces of hundreds of community organisations, including stables at the Horses and Ponies Association, beach facilities at Friends of Cullen, and a fitness studio at Quest Taekwondo. Another beneficiary of ReColour paint was Darlington based Winston Village Hall, who said: “We have been really pleased with the service we have received from Recipro. The discount on the paint we needed to refurbish our Village Hall has been really helpful in keeping the costs down but still being able to access high quality paint.”

The remanufactured paint is also stocked in local community organisations across the UK. One is CT Furniture based in the West Midlands, who provide affordable furniture and transport for their local communities. Nick Tomlinson, Retail Operations Manager said: “We use Recipro as they remanufacture old leftover paint and bring up to a top quality and save this from waste, which is our main goal. The service we get is exceptional and the quality matches the expectation of our customers. Rebecca and the team at Recipro, along with Community RePaint, support us to give back to local communities.”

Rebecca Close, Recipro Wirral Director, said: “We are delighted to have reached this milestone with ReColour remanufactured paint. We think it’s a fantastic product and our customers do too.  Every drop of paint that goes into ReColour has been saved from the waste stream and it makes us so happy to know we have been able to transform it into a new paint, which is affordable and still great quality.”

The Community RePaint network manager, Martin Pearse, reflected: “Hosts of Community RePaint Wirral, Recipro, have had great success with remanufacturing paint over the past 5 years. The celebrations provide a great opportunity to recognise all the hard work that has gone into making the scheme such a triumph and to reflect on all their achievements which has brightened community spaces and homes. This has also paved the way for the sustainable future of the paint industry in reusing leftover paint.”
